Service Description

Anaemia is a shortage of red blood cells and/or haemoglobin in your blood. It is a common cause of tiredness as it leads to in less oxygen being carried round your body. It can also lead to lack of energy, feeling faint, becoming easily breathless and occasionally to irregular heartbeats. This test is designed to discover clues in your blood as to why you may be feeling unusually tired or fatigued. It will give you information on several common causes of anaemia. It includes tests for iron levels including ferritin, a full blood count, vitamin B12 and folate (vitamin B9) levels.
